Sports City pools aren't like a standalone villa in, say, Al Barsha. Here you've got mid-rise towers and villas sitting side by side, and the water behaves differently in each. The apartment pools at Elite Residence catch grit off the Els Club side and the wind up there dries out seals fast, so you'll see more dust and debris in the skimmer than you'd expect. Villas near Victory Heights are the opposite — tree litter, fine sand, and stabiliser creeping past 80 ppm because nobody's draining them properly.

We test with titration kits, not strips, because pH and free chlorine need real numbers when you're balancing a pool that sits at 38°C in August. Shared compound pools serving four to twenty villas are the tricky ones — they're quoted as one split agreement, not per house, and that usually lands between AED 350 and 450 a month depending on size. Getting eight owners to agree on a fixed visit day is honestly harder than the chemistry.

What residents tell us most is green water after a two-week holiday. That's a shock treatment and a filter check, not a drain. We can't fix a 10-year-old pump on the first visit if the impeller's gone, and I won't pretend otherwise.

Every visit: titration testing for pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness and cyanuric acid, then balancing. Skim, brush walls and floor, vacuum, clear the baskets, backwash the sand filter or clean the cartridge. We check pump running current and filter pressure, clean the salt cell, and inspect the valves and light. You'll get a WhatsApp report with before and after readings.

Here's the honest bit. Elite Residence upper floors get serious wind, and that plays havoc with outdoor equipment and seal integrity — if your pump housing or light fitting is already cracked, no chemical schedule fixes that, and we'll tell you to replace it. A full drain and acid wash is a separate job, usually a day plus refill time.
