Damac Hills 2 isn't one kind of job. The Pulse and Greenview apartments have small shared pools, and The Field and The Roots villas have private ones. Camelia throws in townhouses with plunge pools barely 2.5m across. You can't run the same visit on all of them.

In a shared compound pool serving 4 to 20 villas, we're not quoting one house — it's one split agreement, usually AED 350–450 a month divided between owners. That's where it gets messy. One neighbour wants the pump off at night, another's gardener dumps leaves in the skimmer, and nobody wants to be the one chasing the DEWA bill on the pump room. Private villas are simpler but the summer heat cooks them. Chlorine burns off fast when it's 44°C outside, and cyanuric acid climbs if you keep stabilised tabs in year-round. We test with titration kits, not strips, because strips lie about hardness.

Honestly, the shared pools are my least favourite. Access is the problem — some clusters want gate codes, some want security called first, and that eats the visit. It's not glamorous work, but the before/after readings on WhatsApp settle most arguments before they start.

Skim, brush walls and floor, vacuum, clear skimmer and pump baskets, backwash sand or clean cartridges, check pump current and filter pressure, clean the salt cell. You'll get a WhatsApp report with before/after readings after every visit.

Here's the honest bit: a weekly visit can't fix a pool that's gone green because the pump died in August. That's a separate shock treatment, sometimes a full drain and acid wash with refill, and it costs more than your monthly fee. Green water from a failed pump or a tripped DEWA breaker isn't maintenance — it's repair.
