Painting in Motor City

For the low-rise apartments like in MotorCity Uptown, the access rules are tighter—you'll need RTA-approved parking and building management approval 48 hours ahead. The typical job runs about AED 11 per square foot, but that's for a standard 1,200-square-foot apartment. If you're in a Green Community villa with a feature wall or high ceilings, it's closer to AED 14. Honestly, the flexibility here is better than a high-rise, but the dust and moisture make it trickier.

Look, painting in Motor City isn't cheap, but you're not getting ripped off. For a 2-bedroom apartment in Uptown, you're looking at AED 8-12 per sqft for interior walls and ceilings, so a 1,200 sqft place runs around AED 9,600 to AED 14,400. If you've got a Green Community villa with a pool and irrigation system, add AED 2-3 per sqft because we're dealing with more prep work and longer drying times. Exterior painting's pricier — AED 14-18 per sqft — thanks to the summer heat that cooks the paint if we don't time it right.

Timing's straightforward: a standard apartment takes 3-5 days, but villas can stretch to 7-10 days because of all the trim and skirting boards. We'll start by moving furniture away from walls (you'll need to handle the rest), then we patch holes, sand, and prime. For trackside properties near the Autodrome, we've got to clean AC units after race events — that rubber dust clogs everything, so don't skip it.
