Painting in DIFC

Painting a DIFC apartment isn't like doing a villa in the Springs. And those floor-to-ceiling windows in Park Towers? They're great for views but make shadow-matching paint a nightmare — the light changes every hour. Another thing: residents here are finance people who work late, so we're often painting empty units while they're on holiday. That's actually easier for us, but the pressure's on for the move-out repaint — one missed patch on a skirting board and they'll lose their full AED 5,000 deposit. We don't use cheap emulsion either; the anti-mould paint we apply in the bathrooms costs AED 185 per 5-liter tin, but it's non-negotiable for the humidity. One limitation: we can't always match the original developer's paint finish from 2014, especially in Index Tower where the walls have yellowed differently. But I'll be honest with clients upfront — better than a bad surprise.

For a 1-bed in Park Towers, you're looking at AED 7,500 to AED 9,500, and a 3-bed in Index Tower will run AED 12 to AED 14 per square foot—so around AED 18,000 to AED 22,000. That's not cheap, but it covers prep, two coats of quality paint, and anti-mould in the bathrooms. Timing's tight: a 1-bed takes 3 to 4 days, a 3-bed needs 5 to 7 days, but we can't start until the building management approves our registration—that's 48 hours minimum. You'll need to book at least a week ahead, especially in summer when everyone's trying to repaint before the heat kicks in. The process is straightforward: we come by for a look, give you a fixed quote, then schedule. But here's the honest caveat—DIFC towers have strict hours for noisy work, so we can't paint after 6 PM or on Fridays. Also, if your FCU is old or the AC's leaking, we'll have to fix that first, or the paint won't stick right. Don't expect us to handle DEWA paperwork for the building; that's on you.
